"All right, let's go!" Aizen led the two of them toward the edge of Seireitei.
Just then, a lazy voice sounded behind them.
"Aizen? What are you doing out this late?"
Aizen's brow tightened slightly. Shinji Hirako?
Hirako's Suspicions

What was he doing here?
Aizen turned around calmly and smiled at him. "Captain, you came to the festival too? I thought you said you weren't interested in this sort of thing."
Hirako dug a finger into his ear, looking helpless. "You think I wanted to come? I got dragged out here."
He glanced to one side, where Lisa Yadōmaru and Hiyori were happily shopping.
"So you're on a date—and with two women at once. As expected of Captain Hirako!" Aizen said, his face full of admiration.
"A date, my ass! Can't you see those two dragged me here? You still haven't answered me. Where are you taking two Soul Reapers in the middle of the night?" Hirako asked distractedly.
Aizen had his explanation ready. "There was an explosion at the Staff Department. The Chief Strategist suspects there's more to it, so he sent me to patrol with two Soul Reapers. If we spot anyone suspicious, we're to report to him immediately."
Hirako nodded slightly. The official finding blamed the Staff Department explosion on a gas leak, but one of his division members had told him the walls were covered in sword marks. There had clearly been a fight. The Chief Strategist had buried the matter, though, and Hirako had no idea what the old bastard was thinking.
"All right, carry on with your mission." Hirako turned away lazily and waved to Aizen.
