The weasel with the white tail glared viciously at Grandpa, its eyes blood-red as it bared its teeth at him.

Unfortunately, the roof beam was too high for Grandpa to reach it.

Granny Liu said the weasel had to be driven away or killed before the second Zhang brother could return to normal. Otherwise, it would torment him to death, and even Granny Liu would be in danger.

Grandpa wasn't afraid of the creature, mostly because he'd seen weasels almost every day over the past few years. They brought things to our house daily.

To be honest, Grandpa had grown fond of those Yellow Weasels and really didn't want to hurt them.

Grandpa knew about the connection those Yellow Weasels and foxes had with our family. As long as they didn't hurt anyone, he could turn a blind eye to whatever they did. But now that this one had killed someone and was tormenting another, he couldn't tolerate it anymore.

A moment later, Grandpa brought over a chair and stood on it. He raised the large saber in his hand and swung at the weasel, not to kill it, but to make it leave as soon as possible.

The weasel was incredibly nimble, leaping back and forth along the beam. Grandpa couldn't touch it and only hacked a few notches into the wood.

While Grandpa was dealing with the Yellow Weasel, Granny Liu's voice suddenly rang out from outside. "Brother Wu, come out! I need to talk to you!"

Grandpa glanced at the weasel, then had no choice but to jump down from the chair and hurry into the courtyard. Granny Liu was still fighting the possessed second Zhang brother.

"Sister, I saw the Yellow Weasel. It's crouching up on the roof beam, but it keeps running around. I can't catch it," Grandpa said helplessly.

"Forget the Yellow Weasel. Go home and bring your grandson here. Maybe Little Jie can make it leave," Granny Liu called out.

Grandpa thought about it and decided that made some sense.

The main reason these weasels were targeting the Zhang brothers was that they had come to our house, slapped me, and beaten my dad.

Hitting me was tantamount to showing grave disrespect to the Immortal inside me.

All these years, the Yellow Weasels and foxes hadn't been bringing food every day for my sake. They were doing it for that Immortal.

Perhaps if I went over, I really could persuade the Yellow Weasel to leave.

While Grandpa was still hesitating, Granny Liu spoke again. "Brother Wu, don't just stand there! Hurry home and bring your grandson over. These old bones can't hold out much longer. The weasel is controlling the second Zhang brother, and I can't risk killing him."

Hearing that, Grandpa said, "Sister, hold on a little longer. I'll be right back."

With that, Grandpa hurried home with his saber, hauled me out of bed, and rushed me over to the second Zhang brother's house.

Still groggy and clueless about what was happening, I was taken to the second Zhang brother's house by Grandpa.

When I arrived and saw the mess their home was in, I got quite a fright.

Chicken blood covered the ground, and chicken carcasses lay scattered all over the courtyard. The body of a Yellow Weasel with its head smashed flat lay there too.

The second Zhang brother let out beastlike growls and kept lunging at Granny Liu.

"Little Jie, hurry and make your Uncle Zhang stop!" Grandpa shouted.

The sight of those brothers beating my dad earlier that day was still vivid in my mind. They'd left his head covered in blood.

Although the second Zhang brother's appearance frightened me, I couldn't help feeling a little pleased.

"Grandpa, Uncle Zhang and the others beat Dad. They split his head open," I said.

"Why are you bringing that up now? Hurry and make him stop. We'll talk about that later," Grandpa urged, giving me a smack on the bottom.

Left with no choice, I walked toward the second Zhang brother as he kept lunging at Granny Liu and said quietly, "Uncle Zhang, stop fighting."

As soon as I spoke, the second Zhang brother visibly faltered, then slowly turned his head toward me.

Granny Liu backed away several steps, panting heavily.

She was old, after all. After struggling for so long with the second Zhang brother while the weasel controlled him, her strength was clearly giving out.

But the possessed second Zhang brother couldn't feel fatigue at all. His body was being pushed to its absolute limits, and he might work himself to death without even realizing it.

Seeing his ghastly white, bloodshot eyes, I couldn't help feeling frightened.

"They showed grave disrespect to the Ancestor. I must kill them," the second Zhang Family brother said in a pinched, piercing voice.

I looked back at Grandpa, unsure what to say next.

Grandpa froze too. He hadn't expected my words to have so little effect.

Just then, the white-tailed Yellow Weasel that had been on the roof beam suddenly emerged from the house, staring at me with its blood-red eyes.

As soon as the white-tailed Yellow Weasel appeared, another growl rose from the second Zhang Family brother's throat, and he suddenly charged toward the courtyard gate.

"Stop him! Stop him! Don't let him get out!" Granny Liu hurried after him on her tiny feet.

Grandpa and I were standing right in the gateway.

Without another word, Grandpa charged straight at the second Zhang Family brother.

Before Grandpa could raise his saber, the second Zhang Family brother slammed into him and sent him flying.

I didn't know where my sudden courage came from, but I grabbed the second Zhang Family brother's trousers.

As he ran, he dragged me to the ground. I cried out in pain and burst into tears.

Hearing me cry, the second Zhang Family brother suddenly stopped. He actually turned around, scooped me up off the ground, and brushed the dust from my clothes before making to leave again.

Just then, a buzzing filled my head. Everything spun before my eyes, then went black, and I knew nothing more.

Not far away, Grandpa and Granny Liu were astonished to see a huge shadow appear behind me as I stood on the ground.

The shadow was shaped like a fox, with eight tails that swayed ceaselessly.

The second Zhang Family brother had just turned away when he seemed to sense something. He slowly turned back and looked at me.

The next instant, the second Zhang Family brother dropped to his knees, trembling all over.

"Leave. Don't take this any further," I suddenly said, but the voice that came out was the lovely voice of a young woman.

"Ancestor, this family showed grave disrespect to you. How can we let them off so easily?" the second Zhang Family brother asked with utmost reverence, his head bowed between his hands.

"Will you no longer obey me?" I spoke again.

"As you command." The second Zhang Family brother kowtowed to me three times in succession, his forehead striking the ground with audible thuds.

Not far away, the white-tailed Yellow Weasel also kowtowed in my direction, just as the second Zhang Family brother did.

A moment later, the second Zhang Family brother swayed and collapsed to the ground.
