After leaving Seventh Master's house, I drove to the branch office where Tao Jingyu worked.
To make it easier to find out who Chang An'an was, I also called Tao Jingyu's father, Tao Jianhua, over.
Since it concerned his own daughter, he was naturally very cooperative. He immediately called all the department heads into the office and asked whether anyone had taken leave that day.
But after asking them all, it turned out no one had taken leave.
I thought it over. If no one had taken leave, could it just happen to be Chang An'an's day off?
But almost everyone here worked nine to five, with weekends off across the board, though some departments might work overtime on weekends.
Only two departments had rotating days off.
One was the Cleaning Department, which was really just a few older men and women. They were unlikely to be Chang An'an.
The other was the Security Department. Since they worked night shifts, they had rotating days off.
Finally, the Security Captain brought over the shift schedule.
I looked it over and found that two people were off that day. One of them was the security guard from last night. Since he had worked the night shift, he certainly couldn't work the day shift today.
The guard's name was Fang Mingjie.
I asked the Security Captain how their shifts were arranged.
"We work two day shifts and one night shift, then take a day off after the night shift."
After hearing his explanation, I pointed at the schedule and asked, "Then if this Fang Mingjie is off today, shouldn't he be working the day shift tomorrow? Why is he off tomorrow too?"
"It's his son's birthday tomorrow, so he asked for a day off," the Security Captain said. "He told me in advance."
