Background / History

Lin Yue came from the later ages of Blue Star and had practiced the Human Immortal Martial Dao in his previous life. In the final years of the Immortal Ancient era, he combined that inheritance with the cultivation methods of his new world. He suspected that the Wheel of Yin and Yang was connected to his transmigration, but did not know its origin for certain 2 3 38.

His clan belonged to the Longevity Lin Family, whose ancestral grounds lay in the Yin-Yang Realm. The family had produced the True Immortal Lin Qing, who died in battle. Lin Yue promised to carry on its martial legacy when he found the clan ancestor severely injured by Foreign Realm Supreme Dao experts 2 8.

Appearance

Lin Yue has handsome, masculine features and ink-black hair. After entering the Immortal Dao, he still appeared barely past twenty 2 28.

  • Hair: Waist-length and ink-black after his immortal breakthrough 28.
  • Face: Sword-like brows, eyes compared to seas of stars, and a Golden Lotus Mark between his brows 28.
  • Clothing: Black battle robes; frequently fights with a black-gold sword 5 13 28.
  • Yin-yang eyes: Initially release black and white divine radiance. After his primordial spirit’s destruction, his right eye resembles a golden sun, while his left contains a blood sea and dark moon 5 48.

Personality

Lin Yue treats battle as a necessary part of cultivation rather than something to postpone until he is safe. He rejects sheltered training, repeatedly seeks stronger opponents, and challenges limits considered unbreakable—including the five-hundred-year supreme shackles. His confidence can become deliberate boasting, particularly when confronting Foreign Realm prodigies 2 5 16 17.

His aggression is tied to protecting the Nine Heavens, not indiscriminate bloodlust. He respects determined opponents, praises Qi Yuan’s pursuit of the Dao, and advises him to strengthen his foundations through body tempering and real combat. In the Boundary Sea, he approaches another king peacefully when he only needs directions 22 23 42.

Away from combat, he is markedly less assured. Feng Yi’s matchmaking leaves him unable to sustain a conversation beyond praising the young woman’s talent, and he retreats from the attention of other prospective partners. He also reacts angrily to ambushes and the exploitation of overwhelming rank, openly cursing kings who attack younger cultivators 7 15 46.

Abilities & Skills

Human Immortal Martial Dao

Lin Yue cultivates a divine cosmos within his body, using his flesh as the medium through which he engages with the external Great Dao. This forms the foundation of his self-as-seed path 2.

  • Internal power source: His divine repositories remain usable even when an enemy cuts him off from the Great Dao of heaven and earth 6.
  • Bodily structure: Develops twelve divine meridians, 365 cave heavens or divine universes, 720 cavern acupoints, and 1,296 divine repositories; ultimately manifests 129,600 divine embryos as gods 6 18 40.
  • Combat adaptation: Records an opponent’s aura and develops suitable patterns of divine essence circulation, allowing him to improve during battle 26.
  • Strength and endurance: His physique surpasses the Heavenly Horned Ant lineage’s strength, while his internal cosmos sustains prolonged fighting 7 35 45.
  • Evolution beyond body tempering: The next stage uses the internal gods to evolve the myriad things and Daos within his body 40.

Martial Dao Divine Infant

A golden miniature of Lin Yue, nurtured from the Dao Flower of his final strand of immortal qi. He initially regards it as his last trump card 3.

  • Replenishes energy during combat and activates his internal divine repositories 3 6.
  • Stabilizes his primordial spirit against extraction and soul-targeting techniques 6 25 44.
  • Manifests externally to fight, including exchanging a divine punch with Uya 27 32.
  • Self-destructs to create an escape from four Foreign Realm Immortal Kings. It is shattered afterward, though Lin Yue can manifest it again following his recovery and flesh-based king attainment 38 39 41.

Yin-Yang Dao Bodies and Eyes

Two divine bodies—one black and one white—develop from Dao Flowers formed by his immortal qi. They embody the extremes of yin and yang and become clearer as he advances his body-tempering art 3.

  • Illusion perception: His Yin-Yang eyes see through illusions 5.
  • Defensive sacrifice: His Yin-Yang Dao Body detonates to save him from an Immortal Domain king’s Soul-Destroying Spear 38.
  • Fusion into his eyes: During flesh-based king attainment, the Yin-Yang Dao Body merges into his eyes 40.
  • Extreme Yin sword: An attack from his left eye annihilates Fukui’s primordial spirit 42.
  • Yin-Yang Eye-Shocking Tribulation: Kills Immortal Kings Yan Wang and Yin Sha 44 46.

Yin-Yang Swordsmanship

Most of Lin Yue’s sword techniques derive from the Yin-Yang Dao Chapter rather than a broad collection of unrelated treasured arts. He later incorporates the Indestructible Scripture’s divine patterns into their killing power 11 12.

  • Life-Less Yin-Yang Sword: Severs yin and yang, destroys formations and weapons, and cuts apart opposing divine abilities. After entering the Immortal Dao, it becomes a secret art engraved in his bloodline 3 25 29.
  • Great Yin-Yang Chengli Sword Qi: Combines an Extreme Yang sword that destroys tangible things with an Extreme Yin sword that attacks intangible primordial spirits. Defeats He Wushuang and counters Feng Li’s immortal sword art 6 26.
  • Profound Yin Sword: Devours vitality, divine patterns, and immortal radiance. Its effects can drain stars into dead worlds, making Lin Yue reluctant to use it unnecessarily 13 26 29.
  • Profound Yang Sword: Releases scorching Extreme Yang power and luminous radiance against Feng Li 26.
  • Colorless Yin-Yang Sword Realm: Spreads a yin-yang array and manifests the Great Dao as tangible swords throughout the surrounding void 6 25.
  • Ultimate Bliss: The decisive sword strike that kills the Foreign Realm Immortal Feng Li 27.

Yin-Yang Reversal

A movement technique also described as Heaven-Defying Steps. It crosses space and time, enabling rapid attacks and travel 5 10 26.

  • Lets Lin Yue cross the void faster than an ordinary True Immortal during his battle with Feng Li 26.
  • Provides escape speed great enough to strain the pursuing kings’ ability to track him 35.
  • Does not solve his navigation problem in the Boundary Sea; without a king-level primordial spirit, he repeatedly loses his way 42.

Dharma Forms and Kingly Domain

Lin Yue manifests three Dharma Forms that suppress space, time, and laws. After attaining the Dao through flesh, his power spreads through an Immortal King domain 31 32 41.

  • Cuts Uya off from the Great Dao and the divine energy of heaven and earth 31.
  • Resists temporal erosion and counters time-related divine abilities 32 36.
  • Shelters Yan, Yu, and surviving Nine Heavens cultivators within his internal Divine Universes 44.
  • Alters surrounding laws to disrupt the Foreign Realm kings’ combined attacks 44.
  • Limit: Uya breaks his three-form suppression with Extreme Dao divine strength 32.

Life-and-Death Ultimate Intent

After comprehending the transformation between life and death, Lin Yue combines that intent with yin-yang energies and indestructible divine patterns 35 37.

  • Dissolves Youyu’s Dao-law shackles and makes Fukui’s Black Bone Tower avoid his fist 37.
  • Empowers Void Shattering, allowing his attacks to cross the boundary between physical strength and injury to primordial spirits 41 46.
  • Helps overcome a central weakness of his path: before completing body tempering, he could wound kings but struggled to destroy their primordial spirits 36 41.

Dao-Attained Flesh

Completing body tempering makes Lin Yue’s flesh itself attain the Dao, rather than merely possess a king-level physique 40.

  • Instinctively senses changes in heaven and earth 40.
  • Resists the combined attacks of supreme kings with exceptional endurance 44 45.
  • Remains active after his primordial spirit is destroyed, acting through bodily memories rather than conscious thought 48.
  • Instinctively shields Willow Deity and kills Yan Cang and Gu Xiu before returning to dormancy 48 49.
  • Limit: Flesh attainment does not eliminate his vulnerability to soul extraction; the Immortal Refining Pot nearly pulls out his primordial spirit 46.
