"Khadgar, look. There's a lone Felhound here. We'll sneak up on it from behind. It has three times the fel energy of an imp. Remove the head. The other parts are useless; only the brain counts as a spellcasting material."
As he explained, Su Ming led Khadgar through the Tower of Shadows. The Karazhan Observatory was Medivh's route into the Twisting Nether, and reaching the Tower of Shadows from there was quite simple. After all, it was Karazhan's reflection.
Khadgar had already joined Kamar-Taj's deluxe lunch program. The Sorcerer Supreme naturally had to teach him some real skills. For an academy-trained mage like him, what he lacked most was wilderness survival ability.
So Su Ming personally demonstrated how to hunt in the wild.
Though the Felhound had caught their scent, it was nowhere near as fast as Deathstroke. Godslayer lopped off its head in one stroke.
Khadgar looked at the giant Felhound before him, taller than a man and clearly boss-class, and found himself speechless. "...You killed all the other demons. Of course it's alone."
"Oh? There's a lone Abomination ahead. See the stitches on its body? Medivh's craftsmanship is pretty good. Stitching corpse chunks together and making them move like puppets requires very advanced Alchemy Techniques, as well as these specially treated Magic Threads. If you're short on money later, you can hunt Abominations, pull out their stitching threads, and sell them."
Su Ming did not care about Khadgar's snark at all. He simply continued onward with great interest. After cutting down enemies for a while, they encountered the second boss. He rarely fought stitched monstrosities, so this gave Su Ming some useful experience.
"Only necromancers would need this kind of material, right? Those people are too dark. Their magic and even their very existence make people uncomfortable." Khadgar
