"All right, if you like comics, then go draw them. I'll be waiting to read them too." Peggy kissed his cheek again, looping her arms around the back of his neck. "But you'd better draw them well. If I wipe out Hydra and you still haven't become famous, I'm going to laugh at you."
"You never know. Maybe Red Skull will read my comics, be moved by the artwork, and turn himself in."
Steve smiled as well and lowered his head to kiss her. He had faced countless setbacks since childhood. Now, it seemed the United States no longer needed Captain America. It was a blow, but not enough to knock him down.
"Hehe, since when did you become so good at joking? When we first met, you said you didn't have a humorous bone in your body. You liar." Peggy lightly punched his chest, slipped free, and straightened her uniform. She took out her little mirror again to touch up her lipstick, then said in a soft, mischievous voice, "All right, darling, leave the shield here, then go wait for me in my dorm."
Steve's expression stiffened for a moment, but he quickly understood. The shield did belong to the country. "You're so busy, so let's forget it today. I want to go back and look at my old home in Brooklyn. It's been too long—I need to clean it up."
As he spoke, he reached behind his back and took off the shield. Looking at the star on it, he drew a deep breath, raised his head, and handed it to Peggy.
The shield was rather heavy. Peggy had to use quite a bit of strength to catch it, and because of that, she did not see Steve's expression. "All right. If I have time, I'll come help
