Of course, Su Ming was not really so bored that he would stand around shooting the breeze with Wong.
As he entered this side passage, he found even more branches ahead, spreading like the limbs of a tree. There were also plenty of pits large enough for people to hide in. Searching them one by one was risky, especially with Wong in tow.
Little Wong was still a novice with little combat experience. He needed to be trained gradually.
When carrying a low-level teammate, you could not just charge ahead by yourself. You had to watch for any enemies you might miss, lest something go wrong.
So Su Ming came up with a plan. He would block the entrance to the main branch and deliberately let the people hiding nearby hear their conversation, luring them into the open. Even if they launched a sneak attack, it would not be a problem.
He knew someone was hiding somewhere among these branches. Strangle had noticed them long ago, and he had deliberately been speaking English loudly while talking to Wong, just to observe how the people hiding in the tunnels reacted.
After all, this was Polar Bear territory, and Leviathan was highly sensitive to English.
Yet aside from the sound of chattering teeth at first, the people hidden in the darkness actually began breathing more steadily after hearing English. There were also faint rustling sounds, as though they intended to come out and identify themselves to the two men.
There were two of them, though. It seemed the other person had stopped the one who wanted to come out, followed by a silent discussion.
They appeared to be from an English-speaking country, so there should be room to negotiate.
