In a warm pavilion with vermilion pillars, Su Ming held a cup of tea and sipped from it slowly.
The fragrance of tea leaves spread through the small space with the drifting steam. A kettle on the nearby stove was bubbling away, while tiny flames continually flickered from the gap between the stove and the bottom of the kettle.
He had summoned all the Great Mages of Kamar-Taj and contacted the mages stationed at the Three Great Sanctums. This was Kamar-Taj's first representative assembly.
There was no beating of drums, nor were there any speeches from representatives. It was more like a New Year tea party, just a month late.
There were not many Great Mages Kamar-Taj could currently call upon, especially after excluding those unable to move freely. There was Master Ouyang in Hong Kong, Master White in New York, who was clearly Black despite being called White, and the old rogue stationed in London—whose real name was Merlin, though Su Ming pretended not to know and called him Master Trickster.
The only Great Mages available at his side were Druid Master, Hamill, Monark, and the increasingly strange Mordu.
Little Wong and Kaecilius were still too young, lacking both strength and experience. The other apprentices were the same and needed more time to grow and train.
"Strange. Why did you call me here for a Kamar-Taj meeting?"
Monark sat behind a low table, with a plate of cold sliced meat and a jug of wine before him. It made him feel as though he had returned to the Han Dynasty. Yet right beside him sat Mordu, wearing nothing but a few black lacquered leather straps. That greasy smile made the Magic Prince extremely uncomfortable.
