Tony ran off angrily. A somewhat distracted Howard released Fury and tried to help him back to bed, but Fury gritted his teeth and refused.
"No. I'd better leave. If Tony ever decides he wants to play with mummies, I'm afraid I'll be dissected."
Howard smiled awkwardly. Though he had been director for so many years, whenever he was with his old friends from back then, he was still the same—just a scientist who was no longer quite so innocent.
"Tony has no interest in biology or archaeology. He doesn't have a history of dissecting rabbits or mice either."
"Really? If he's never dissected mice, how did he make those incredibly lifelike robotic mice?" Fury's dark face remained expressionless as he hit the nail on the head. "You don't pay enough attention to him, do you? Maybe he's already dissected living people."
As soon as that possibility was raised, the atmosphere in the room became heavy.
"Don't scare me like that. My son isn't some future serial killer." Howard hurriedly waved his hands. He did not dare dwell on such a thought. "I admit that S.H.I.E.L.D. keeps me busy, and I have my own research and company to manage, so maybe I haven't cared enough about him. But trust me, there's no way he could get hold of human test subjects."
Fury noncommittally held out his hand. "Let's hope so. Give me Deathstroke's business card."
Seeing the seriousness in Black Egg's eyes, Howard took out his wallet, pulled out the card, and handed it to Fury between two fingers. "Fine, but if you deal with him, be careful. Extra careful. He could set a trap for you anywhere, anytime, then make you help bury it."
"I have a plan. So, have you never considered sending Tony to school early?" Fury
