Howard was shaken. So it wasn't that his shield was good, nor that he and his son had been lucky. Maybe Deathstroke had been squatting right in front of them all along, munching sunflower seeds while observing their expressions at close range, and neither of them had known.
But wasn't Deathstroke's Black Bean Sprout pet a little too absurd? It could already do something like this? Optical invisibility? But then how did Deathstroke eat?
Howard couldn't figure it out, and Deathstroke had no intention of explaining.
"Can we not talk about that?"
Howard waved a hand, unwilling to dwell on the life-saving favor. Earlier, asking Deathstroke to help had already meant he would have to go supervise construction on an alien planet. If he owed him another life-saving favor now, wouldn't he have to go build Hell?
"Whatever. The fishing plan worked anyway. As long as we catch up with Hydra's main force, we can follow the trail back to whoever's pulling the strings. Are you coming?"
Su Ming rolled his neck. Tony's embarrassing history, his miserable expression, his heart-wrenching cries, and his subsequent blank stare had all been recorded by the magic sphere. That was enough.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellites lost them. They dove beneath the ocean's surface." Howard shook his head.
"Those are your satellites, not mine. I can still find them." Su Ming raised a hand and tapped the ear section of his helmet. The communication device formed by Strangle remained in constant contact with the fleet in Earth orbit. The fleet's sensors were purchased alien technology, and they worked very well.
Dugan got to his feet and slipped away. "Uh, I'm not going. I just remembered I left the faucet running at home."
"I'll go with you. I want to see who's making a move on Tony." Howard
