Carol flew past the Kree fighter. Taking control of Attilan's ship was no challenge at all; after all, the thing was practically identical, and it was an old relic built from ancient Kree technology.
After flying out of Attilan's protective barrier and looking at the blue-glowing Earth in the distance, she pressed the warp drive button.
The scenery and starlight turned into twisted streaks of color as the ship carrying three people and a dog entered warp transit. From the Solar System in the Milky Way Galaxy to the NGC 185 Galaxy in Andromeda, it would take more than two hundred jumps. That would take some time.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Steve was hurrying along in a large truck. Bucky climbed in from outside and was now chatting with him in the passenger seat.
"So we're dealing with an upgraded Red Skull, along with his possible Skeleton Crew?"
Bucky sighed. He could no longer remember how many times he and his brother had tangled with Red Skull, especially now that they had just learned the Red Skull who existed after World War II had actually been a fake.
Steve's expression was grave, his fair face full of seriousness. "Don't underestimate the enemy, Bucky. This time, Red Skull is on a suicide mission. He went deep into the United States, probably to drag us down with him."
"Don't worry, brother. We've got a nuke loaded in the truck, don't we?"
Bucky smiled and gestured toward the rear compartment with his thumb. Dr. Banner and Betty were still unconscious inside, lying on the floor under the watch of Doctor Pym and Janet.
"I don't know how Red Skull infiltrated Cape Canaveral, but if we unleash Hulk there, the country could suffer serious losses. Don't do that unless we have no other choice."
