The corridor still had a human style. The rooms on either side contained no people and no lights. Luthor leaned close to a door crack and looked inside, but all he could see were some inexplicable boxes and other clutter.

The entrance door closed behind the two of them with a crisp sound, cutting off all the red light from outside. Everything sank into darkness.

But Perpetua and Luthor could both see in the dark, so it did not affect them at all.

"This place seems a little different."

Perpetua said this as she sat on her reshaped throne.

The throne had shrunk as well, but the three coffins had not. From Luthor's position behind her, she looked like she was sitting in a wheelchair dragging three cylinders.

Luthor also tried to sense it after hearing her words, but his new form had no hair and no sweat pores. Even if he imagined every hair on his body standing on end, he noticed nothing.
