Elminster clapped his hands as though he had remembered something, steering the conversation away from the heavier topic.

"You recruited a new apprentice in the new world, right? I secretly watched her a few times while she was practicing at the shooting range in the basement, because you said you wanted me to teach her some things next."

Su Ming took a deep breath and removed the cigarette from his lips. "Yes, Hermione Granger. I think she has great talent."

"But do you know that she is more like a Sorcerer? Or rather, everyone called a wizard in that world is like a Sorcerer." Elminster stroked his beard with a wry smile and glanced at Mordenkainen, who stood nearby with his arms folded. "Mordenkainen tricked a few people in Diagon Alley and got some blood samples. After studying them, we found that the wizards of that world could cast spells entirely because of a special power in their bloodlines. That is a typical Sorcerer trait. "I do not like Sorcerers either." Mordenkainen still looked grim as he gave his opinion. "Their bloodlines make them think they were born superior, that extraordinary power is theirs for the taking. They do not understand that the art of magic requires time spent studying knowledge and painstaking research. They are impetuous, vain, and have no reverence."

"Stop, just stop." Su Ming waved a hand, looking helpless. "You just snuck into another world like that? Weren't you afraid something would go wrong?"

"You were always the first test subject. You went in and nothing happened, so we humans should be fine as well." Elminster smiled cheerfully. He loved exploration too much. With an unknown world sitting right there, how could he possibly resist
