"Is this the place?"
Standing atop the seaside cliff, Sirius stared solemnly at a cave in the distance below.
More precisely, it looked more like a gap in the towering black cliff face. The narrow triangular fissure was over thirty meters high but only a few meters wide, embedded right along the shore.
Great waves crashed against it, producing a strange roar. The inside was pitch-black, impossible to see into; only the white breakers could be seen beneath the moonlight, like countless dead hands crowded together.
Kreacher trembled nonstop. He seemed terribly afraid of this place, and even his pointed ears had drooped.
But a house-elf had to obey every command of the family head, so he could only bring them here.
"So it was here." Su Ming crouched down, inspected several stones, then casually tossed them aside. "Looks like Voldemort was treated pretty well at the orphanage when he was young. Even if they only went on one outing a year, this place is far too far from London."
The three people and one elf were currently on the Isle of Man, in the strait between England and Ireland. To be honest, the scenery here was quite beautiful when the weather was good, but there were too few people on the island. In more remote places, one might not see another person all day.
Hermione stood behind the two men, unwilling to get too close to the cliff's edge.
"There's a small village several miles away. That must have been where the orphans stayed during their trip. But even though we flew here on a flying carpet, it's still over four hundred kilometers from London. Back then, they would have needed to take a train and then a boat. That must have taken several days."
Su Ming smiled, nodded,
