In the British Wizarding World, everyone knew that Harry's parents had been killed by Voldemort, and Draco was no exception.
He had always targeted Harry mainly because Harry only hung around with the Weasley children.
After all, before the start of their first year, Harry Potter had been an absolute celebrity. As the child of a wealthy family, Draco naturally felt that his friends ought to be the best as well, so he had taken the initiative to approach him on the train and ask to be friends.
But he had been thoroughly rebuffed. Harry simply would not play with him.
Never in his life had he been so humiliated. He had lost all face in front of his two hulking lackeys.
So from then on, he had gone head-to-head with Harry. Though really, his main target had been Ron. That redhead was too foolish; the slightest provocation would make him take the bait.
If anyone asked how much he hated Harry, though? Not really. He just could not swallow the anger from back then.
Now that they were already in their fourth year, most students had turned their attention to Miss Granger. She was Hogwarts' best student.
Only Draco remained unwaveringly fixated on Harry. He felt that Harry ought to be his friend. Though The Boy Who Lived had already fallen out of fashion and was nothing special anymore, the Blond-haired Classmate still had his eyes on him.
Looking at Harry, who was acting so out of character and had no spirit whatsoever, Draco suspiciously stepped closer.
There was no doubt that Harry's condition had something to do with the photograph in his hand. But Draco had never seen Harry become particularly sad over his parents' deaths before.
