Wade strode to the railing and leaned over for a look. Thor was using a folding lounge chair like a surfboard, lying facedown on it and paddling furiously with both legs as he charged straight toward the countless incoming apes.
Then he spotted something else. Not far from where Thor had fallen into the water, a figure in a black bodysuit, with a curvy silhouette, was pressed tightly beneath the yacht's waterline.
A thief—and a female thief at that.
Wade narrowed his eyes. He was starting to believe that someone might be targeting Tony after all. But the other party was hiding underwater, and her clothes were so tight she probably could not even conceal a dagger. At most, this was a robbery.
He had no idea what apes sold for on the international black market, but there were at least tens of thousands of them. They could not have cost less than several hundred thousand dollars. The yacht itself was valuable, but nothing aboard was worth that kind of investment.
He rummaged through his backpack, pulled out several Concussion Grenades, yanked their pins, and tossed them into the water.
Since Tony had hired him for security, he had to do the job properly.
The little thief realized she had been discovered and immediately tried to swim away. Wade was not especially good at calculating lead time, but he threw several more grenades in different directions, completely cutting off her escape routes.
With bursts of blinding light and thunderous explosions, columns of water erupted from the sea. When the spray settled, the female thief floated face-down on the surface like a dead fish, limbs spread wide. She appeared to have passed out.
"See? I caught a thief for you already, didn't I?"
Wade smugly went to grab a life ring
