"Your bag!"

Daisy poked her head out from the factory entrance behind them, waving the pink backpack in her hand. She shouted loudly enough for her voice to carry over the gunfire.

Wade had forgotten the bag containing grenades and magazines beneath the passenger seat of the car.

Wade hurriedly stopped firing and patted his pockets, only to discover that he really had forgotten the magazines. Smiling sheepishly, he scratched his head and walked back to the gate.

"Oh, thanks."

"You're welcome. By the way, what the hell is that thing?" Daisy pointed at the silver robot. "A Terminator? Is it the one behind the kidnapping?"

Wade leaned against the door, staring blankly at some distant spot as he answered absentmindedly.

"No idea. Never seen one before. I guess it might be some kind of killer robot. There are always all kinds of lunatics out there. They don't dare kill anyone themselves, so they hope someone else—or something else—will do it for them."

"Oh? You're a psychologist too?" Daisy watched Thor fight the robot. How should she put it? It looked like he was about to die. "Forget that for now. Didn't you say you were going to protect Thor?"

The robot was impervious to blades and bullets. Each bullet striking its body threw off sparks, yet it continued walking slowly toward Thor, completely unruffled.

And yet Wade was leaning against the door chatting with her, his thieving eyes fixed greedily on her chest as though he did not care about Thor's life at all.

She raised a hand and twisted Wade's chin, turning his face toward the battlefield.

"Shit!"

Only then did Wade snap out of it. What he had just seen had been far too impactful, nearly making him forget where he was.
