"Chaplain? Please, have a seat."

Su Ming smiled and invited the Dark Angels Chaplain to sit and talk, though the stone stool did not even reach a Space Marine's ankles.

He had always known the Chaplain was hiding in the corridor outside, because Strangle had smelled darkness. There was nothing shameful about his conversation with the Space Wolves.

Naturally, smart people required another set of smart methods.

The Dark Angels' style was all about "hiding." Their Primarch, Lion El'Jonson, only lacked a Batman costume; his manner was almost exactly like Batman's. He had plans in his heart, yet never explained them, burying all his emotions and thoughts deep inside.

The inheritance of genes had made the members of his Chapter very much like him, especially when it came to stealth.

Su Ming also knew that unless he revealed some intelligence the Angels could regard as "secret," the Chaplain would never fully believe him. Perhaps Skull Face already suspected that he had killed the missing men.

But Strangle would leave behind no evidence, and suspicion could not convict anyone.

He sat down. Outside, the Company Champion had already stationed men to guard the door, with numerous sentry posts arranged around the perimeter.

As he spoke, the Chaplain removed his skull helmet, revealing a large bald black head. He was a dark-skinned man with thick lips and sharply defined facial muscles. A large patch of skin was missing from the right side of his forehead, and only several Service Studs and an implanted steel plate held the surrounding skin taut.
