Su Ming flung the greatsword from his hand. After all, the dozens-of-meters-long ultra-heavy weapon was still ablaze, like a massive torch in the night, painting the faces of every Necron surging toward them red.
The greatsword spun into the enemy ranks, carving out a broad path as though cutting wheat. Its firelight vanished directly beyond the distant horizon.
By the time the undead on both flanks had filled the gap in their lines, the two humans were already gone, leaving behind only a shattered battlefield.
Having lost their primary targets, the Necrons began carrying out their secondary task: sweeping the battlefield and finishing off any Eldar who were not quite dead.
"Didn't we find it? Why did we leave?"
Within the dark clouds overhead, Su Ming and the Sister poked their heads out and peered down at the battlefield. Efferal was somewhat puzzled.
"We'll wait until the Eldar counterattack and tie down the Necron army. Then we can strike straight down from the air and dig our way in." Su Ming extended an arm from the quilt-like cloud layer and traced a circle. "Look. Whether it's the Eldar encirclement or the Necrons' defensive line, it's all a circle."
"So you plan to airdrop directly into the center of the circle, while also avoiding the endless Necron army." The Sister understood and nodded, though she still seemed distracted, as if she were dwelling on the voice she had sensed through psychic energy earlier.
Su Ming drew a breath and shook his head. "The Eldar alone won't be enough. If this is the main tomb, the main stasis chamber, then their forces definitely can't hold the encirclement. We need to notify the Space Wolves and the Dark Angels to drive every kind of enemy in this direction."
