"This really is a Death Planet. There isn't even a single hair left."
Peter, clad in a spacesuit, bounced around after landing. With the atmosphere gone, the planet's gravity had lost its air pressure, so he was practically floating above the ground, relying on his suit's thrusters.
Su Ming and Daisy needed no extra protection at all. The two of them searched through the barely recognizable ruins for something.
More precisely, Deathstroke was searching while Thor watched for fun. She had no idea what they were looking for, so she just poked here and grabbed there.
This planet must once have had a name, as well as a civilization that lived upon it, but none of that mattered now. All that remained was a scorched wasteland.
The ground had completely crystallized, but the glass that should have been clear was coated in a thick layer of black sludge, like the marks left by holding a teacup over a candle flame.
The place where the three stood might once have been the site of skyscrapers or something similar, but now it was merely a platform a few millimeters higher than the surrounding ground.
Everything on the planet had melted away. Peter did not think the Captain could possibly find anything here.
"Patience, Peter. As a Marauder, grave robbing is also a required course. Right now, we're tomb raiding, and this grave is still warm." Deathstroke pulled out his weapon and transformed it into a shovel, digging into the ground. "You can find clues to ancient civilizations in the ruins of planets destroyed billions of years ago, so why wouldn't we find something in a fresh grave that was destroyed less than a day ago?"
Peter understood, and his expression turned solemn. "So you're using this planet to teach me space archaeology?
