The white warships descending from the pitch-black sky were exceedingly magnificent. The Shi'ar soldiers held white flags that fluttered in the wind. Their bearing was solemn and disciplined, clearly the result of proper training.
Although to Earthlings, a white flag meant surrender or France, the Shi'ar military flag really was white. There was a golden open triangle in the center, as though someone had drawn the instrument known as a triangle onto it.
Deathstroke calmly smoked, narrowing his eyes as he watched the Shi'ar soldiers outside the window stand in formation. They laid out a red carpet and lights, then set up the sort of podium used for press announcements.
Su Ming's ship was parked atop a building, and all these Shi'ar were working on the rooftop as well. Not far away, they were collecting the bodies of their slain comrades, yet there was no anger or grief on their faces.
"Lilandra should be about to issue a new decree and lift the ban on art." He pressed Peter's head down, making him look out the window as well. "If you fight the Shi'ar in the future, singing and dancing might not be much use anymore."
"I really don't get it. If they're so afraid of art, what if an enemy kept playing music or dancing during a battle?"
Peter still looked excited. He trembled as though he were having a fit, still thrilled about receiving his new codename.
"There's something called AI. The Shi'ar military also has unmanned war machines numbered in the trillions." Su Ming leaned against his seat and spoke faintly. "People on one planet once tried to resist Shi'ar conquest that way.
