Watching the middle-aged man take his leave, Wade generously bought everyone in the bar a round of drinks. Su Ming, however, had no intention of mooching a cup of such cheap liquor, and he left with Daisy.
The middle-aged man was in no hurry to act, and Su Ming was in no hurry to push his cousin's transformation either.
He was on vacation now, after all, and everything had already been arranged. For the time being, he did not want to get involved in anything else—especially since the Punisher, drinking in another corner of the bar, had been keeping his guard up around him.
Being watched made it hard even to enjoy a drink.
"Should I take you home?"
He asked Daisy beside him. The early autumn night was already a little chilly, and when they stepped out of the lively bar in the middle of the night, the deathly silent streets in the distance came into view.
"Hmm?" The female doctoral student looked toward a street corner and whispered, "Why has another balding middle-aged man appeared over there?"
"Oh, this one's an old acquaintance too. Let's see what they're saying." The moment Su Ming saw the luxurious red sports car, he knew who had arrived. Taking Daisy's hand, he followed the two from a distance.
"Agent Michaud, do you have time to find somewhere for a drink and a chat?"
The middle-aged man in the driver's seat slowly drove alongside the street while smiling at the short man walking by the roadside.
The small, thin, bald man returned an almost identical smile and politely declined. "No, Coulson. I'm on assignment. If you still want to buy me a drink next time, we can arrange something then."
"It's Coulson. You've really started speaking British English after going to Canada. Did
