Harley was actually easy to please. She was neither picky about restaurants nor about after-dinner entertainment.
She could happily eat beer and sausages, then enjoy herself just as much playing whack-a-mole at an Amusement Park afterward. She had a severe psychological dependence on the people around her; much of the time, all she needed was companionship.
After taking a lap around the world, Su Ming had more or less finished sorting through what he had observed. After the Mother of the Multiverse fell, everything seemed to have gotten much better.
Though Su Ming knew it was only a temporary illusion and that deeper darkness could descend at any moment, this was enough for now.
Near dawn, the two returned to the United States and arrived at the shore of Mercy Harbor, looking at the city of Atlantis on the distant horizon.
"Any news lately?"
He asked the woman beside him. She had her eyes closed and her arms spread wide, feeling the sea breeze.
"Oh, the same old crap. You know, Luthor's on the run, The Batman Who Laughs keeps popping up and disappearing, Donna and Gordon are still going crazy, blah blah blah." Harley grabbed her twin ponytails and gave them a hard tug, as if pulling the flush handle on an old-fashioned toilet. "And there's something else. People only want to believe what they see. Even if you have proof, they still don't want to believe it."
"I understand. Luthor has utterly destroyed the Justice League's public trust. Until that bald man gets caught, the mud in their crotches won't just be mud." Su Ming nodded, pulling two small folding stools from his waist pouch and handing Harley a fishing rod.
Fishing was quite suitable when the sun was about to rise.
