The three of them cleaned up the scene. At the very least, they had to refill the grave they had dug up. Barry handled the dirt, Roy laid down the turf, and Su Ming supervised.
While they were working, Barry's phone rang. When he answered it, Green Arrow's voice came through.
"What did you do to Roy?"
Barry looked up at the starry sky. Who knew which of those brilliant stars might be a Justice League spy satellite? Sure enough, as long as they were active on the surface, they could not avoid being watched.
"Well, it's a little complicated." The Flash scratched his head, stuck the shovel into the ground beside him, and explained the functions and risks of the black and white lanterns. "In short, Deathstroke came up with a way to give Roy another chance to gamble with his life."
"Put him on the phone. Let me talk to him."
Green Arrow's breathing was hurried, as if he were desperately restraining his excitement.
