"This little green man is named Ord, an alien who came to blow up Earth. I heard he did it because of some god's oracle." Su Ming took the offered way out as well and stopped arguing with Agamotto. "I invited you here to solve this problem. If mortals want to destroy Earth, then naturally an ordinary person like me will deal with them. But if the god behind him wants to destroy Earth, shouldn't you three do something about it?"
"Oh? Earth is the source of all mysticism in the universe. I've seen plenty of gods who wanted to occupy it, but this is the first time I've heard of one willing to destroy it." Hoggoth bared his teeth in a half-smile. He extended a massive claw made of energy and snatched up the alien from the ground. "Look into my eyes and tell me the name of your evil god!"
Ord's meager strength was probably less than dust to Hoggoth. He was even less capable of resisting an order that reached into his soul, a control technique much like making words become law.
In the language of Broken Land, he spoke an awkward, tongue-twisting name. That was presumably the divine name of the god they worshipped.
Hoggoth tossed the alien back into the dust and transformed into a human-sized big green caterpillar. Hugging his hookah, he wriggled over to Deathstroke. "We have never heard of this god. And in this universe, a god we do not know means it does not exist."
The Trinity Vishanti could communicate directly without words. What Hoggoth meant was that even Oshtur had never known of such a god.
And as one of the earliest Elder Gods, Oshtur knew an enormous number of things, no less than Yggdrasil.
"Are you sure, boss?" Su
