Aboard S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Quinjet, Spider-Man and Iron Man, along with Coulson and Cavalry's team, returned once again to the familiar rooftop.
They went downstairs and entered the Skrulls' room, only to find that there were not actually many signs of a fight.
"Captain didn't react in time. His shield missed." Two beams of light shot from Tony's eyepieces as he scanned the entire room.
By using a computer to reconstruct the scene, comparing every trace against the reconstruction from his previous visit, and filtering out the variables for analysis, they could simulate everyone's movements as closely as possible.
Or they did not need to make it that complicated. One look at the mark left by the shield on the side of the doorframe was enough to tell that it had not hit the enemy, but the wall instead.
"With Captain's skill at throwing discs, missing is practically impossible." Peter leaned close to the mark by the door, tilting his head as he examined it carefully. He even scratched at it with a finger. "The force was weaker too. This mark is very shallow. Maybe they were all hit with tear gas? The kind the government uses to suppress Black protests?"
"Captain underwent the super-soldier procedure. He can hold his breath for twenty minutes; tear gas is ineffective against him." Coulson, the fanatical fan, rejected the hypothesis and offered his own opinion. "I think a Taser is more likely. Captain may be physically strong, but he's still human. He'd go numb if he got shocked."
Tony finished his analysis, turned his head to casually inspect the surroundings, and casually gave the results:
"All of that is possible. It wasn't just Captain trying to fight back and missing. Hawkeye's arrows and Black Widow's pistol shots also missed. There's an arrow hole in the
