Carol looked as though a question mark had popped up over her head. She had no idea why Deathstroke was saying this. They had clearly been able to capture the enemy, yet he had slammed on the brakes at the last second, made a deal, and let the man go.

Like a kitten, she rubbed her face with both hands, looking utterly exhausted. Whenever she followed Deathstroke on a mission, she could never guess what he would do next.

Her thoughts were instantly seen through from that gesture and expression. The Mercenary merely walked over to the fallen television robot and shook his head with a laugh at her expense.

"Such mortal wisdom. You don't actually think the technological development of our world depends on people like Tony or Pym, do you?"

"Doesn't it? They're both world-famous scientists."

The woman in the red-and-blue uniform blinked.

The Guardians of the Galaxy had taken the rescued hostages and left as soon as the fight began. Only three people remained in the blood-reeking laboratory.

"But Tony won't share the Arc Reactor's data with anyone, and Pym won't let anyone else use his Pym Particles either. Are their inventions really useful to human society?" Deathstroke patted the television's casing, producing hollow metallic thumps. "And humanity has one defining trait: the most advanced technologies are originally meant to kill their own kind. Only once those technologies can no longer keep up with the latest research do they transition from military to civilian use."

Elsa had no objection to the Sorcerer Supreme's actions. The monster hunter simply stood with her arms folded, dozing against a nearby table.

Captain Marvel sighed. She knew Deathstroke was right. Whenever a new research subject was proposed, people's first thought was whether it could be weaponized.
