Baldr was quite popular in Asgard, to say the least. Loki merely took a stroll beneath the city walls and asked the towering, powerfully built single female warriors whether they would be willing to marry Baldr, even if they would only be husband and wife for a single day during Ragnarök.
The female warriors, all over eight feet tall, covered in muscle, and some even bearded, were deeply bashful. But their attitude was clear: they were willing to obey the All-Father's arrangements, and marrying the God of Light would be an honor.
Even if they all died today, they would have no regrets.
As Loki wandered along, he sighed inwardly. Sure enough, the honest-looking ones were the blackest at heart. How had that Greatwood Daksu come up with such a vicious idea? And it seemed he had seen through Loki's intentions as well.
When had Asgard produced someone like that?
Still, it did not matter. Everyone was going to die today anyway, so there was no point looking into it.
He led those tall, strong warriors through the crowds and streets. Seeing children in the roadside buildings picking up swords and weapons, he smiled faintly, as though he were looking at his younger self.
When he had been little, every time Thor went hunting, Loki would insist on tagging along. Even if he could not draw a bow, he could still carry a dead rabbit or a sword sheath for Thor.
Those days had been wonderful. But after Baldr took Thor to see the Black Dragon, Thor changed.
He began pursuing bigger prey and greater glory. He no longer liked playing with frail Loki, instead following Baldr everywhere and showing off!
That bastard! Why was he alive again?! Loki had clearly used Hodr's hand to kill him!
