"Why hasn't Sif returned yet?" Thor sighed, his axe chopping down the enemies before him again and again. "And Mother, please let Loki out. We should be fighting and dying side by side now, not letting him die helplessly in a cell."

"Ah, my dear brother actually still cares about me. I'm so touched."

Loki suddenly appeared behind them, inside the half-collapsed great hall. Leaning against a broken pillar, he wore the same old smile, looking utterly at ease.

"Loki! How did you get out on your own?"

Thor had no time to turn around and look at his brother. Enemies kept pouring in before him, and even the enemy commanders had yet to take the field.

But his brother's voice alone was enough for him to recognize him.

"If I didn't come out, was I supposed to wait to die?" Loki blinked and walked behind Thor, giving him a half-smiling glance. "We should be preparing to leave. Asgard is doomed to fall, and Yggdrasil is finished. There's no need to be buried with an empty city."

Thor shook his head and hacked down several more people with heavy breaths. "No. This is our glorious homeland. Since when do warriors run away? If we flee, then what were the friends and heroes who died before us supposed to be?!"

"They were fools, I guess." Loki rolled his eyes and simply stopped paying attention to his brother. Instead, he spoke to Hera. "Mother, I have a plan. I even got hold of a spaceship. Let's use it to escape, shall we? I can control some people to cover our retreat. We have enough time."

"You do not have the power to control hearts. Who is helping you?" Protected by the Shield-maidens, Hera formed a battle line against the enemy, her armor
