Above the plaza outside the great hall, Hela alone was beating down eight Hammer Heralds. Although the battle was still evenly matched for now, the fact that eight against one still could not defeat her fully demonstrated the gap in strength.
If, like on Earth-616, the Hammer Heralds had chosen Earth's superheroes or villains to possess and control, they might have been somewhat stronger.
But unfortunately, there were no ifs. 40K Earth had Kamar-Taj guarding it closely, making it nearly impossible to breach its defensive barrier through mysticism.
Thus, aside from Sin, who had been brainwashed into Skadi and was at least a somewhat notable figure, the other seven Hammer Heralds were all nobodies. Their combat power relied entirely on the various abilities granted by their hammers. They truly were gods of hammers in every sense.
Hela was highly skilled in combat, capable of using magic, and quite intelligent as well. The Blackstone spikes beneath her feet, twisting like venomous snakes and occasionally bursting from the ground at unknown locations, were alone enough to cause her opponents enormous trouble.
Her weakness lay in her Cloak, but as long as her enemies did not know that, she was practically invincible. Combined with her nearly inexhaustible army of the dead and the constantly rolling black mist, the battlefield remained firmly under her control.
Hela's army was supposedly made up of the souls of "inglorious" dead, but when one thought about it carefully, what was the difference between them and the honored dead? Weren't they all ghosts anyway?
The only difference was that these skeletons, Zombies, and ghosts lacked decent equipment. The better-off ones had spectral manifestations of weapons they had loved in life, while the worse-off ones had only claws and teeth. The most unfortunate did not even have teeth anymore.
But
