"Can we contact Thor?"
Tony immediately asked Jarvis, only to receive a negative answer. The AI butler reported that Thor's communicator was out of service range.
"We have to intercept Sky City, Tony." Dr. Banner moved closer and adjusted his glasses. "We can't let something with that kind of mass hit New York. Radiation, tsunamis, earthquakes—it'll kill everyone in the city."
"I know. I'm thinking of a way, but using nuclear missiles to intercept it requires calculations. There isn't enough time." Tony bit his lip as thoughts raced through his mind. "Notify the military. Anyone who can fly and enter space, come with me. We'll try to reduce its size outside the atmosphere and blast it into harmless chunks."
Of those present, only Tony himself, Vision, Carol, and Daisy could fly out of Earth's atmosphere.
Carol was not worried in the slightest. She even felt like laughing. She could easily destroy something of that size.
"No need. I can handle it myself." She confidently tossed her hair back and reached for the window. The Binary emblem on her chest glittered in the sunlight.
"Situation update, sir. Satellites have detected Deathstroke."
Just as Carol was about to set off and everyone watched her with burning eyes, Jarvis ruined the atmosphere and enlarged the image in the projection.
A tiny black-and-yellow figure flew out of the ruins. Compared to the city wreckage, he was like a mosquito beside an ocean liner. Yet he flew beneath that chunk of continent, braced the entire city on his shoulder, easily slowed it down, and carried it toward the ground.
As though he had noticed the satellites spying on him, the man turned his Red Goggles toward the camera and silently waved in their direction.
Carol shut the window, returned to watch the footage, then pouted.
