"Hundred Percent Barehanded Blade Catch!" Deathstroke clapped his hands together and caught the blade between them in midair. Looking around at the circular hall hung with Golden Lion Banners and the Paladin with a brown beard before him, he knew exactly where he was. "Varian, it's me. Could you tell Bolvar?"

He tilted his head, looking past the Paladin's shoulder toward the young man seated on the throne behind him.

"Master Deathstroke? Regent, please stop. The Sorcerer Supreme is a friend of the Stormwind Kingdom, and also the teacher of the astral mage Khadgar." The messy-haired young man rose from the throne, a hint of delight on his face as he warmly approached.

"Be careful, Your Majesty. It could be some sort of magical disguise." Bolvar merely eased his strength, but did not lower his weapon.

"I know how to recognize a friend. Stand down." Varian ignored the regent's plea, pushed him aside, and warmly embraced Deathstroke. "Master, it has been more than a decade since we last met. I have never neglected the martial skills you taught me."

"Actually, I didn't teach you much. Just some basic warrior techniques—Charge into Hamstring, then immediately Whirlwind. Right?"

"Heh, perhaps they were only basics, but I benefited immensely."

Only after confirming that passphrase did Varian discreetly loosen his grip on the sword at his waist. He was not as simple-minded as he appeared and naturally knew to remain cautious at all times.
