After teleporting to Earth-12, they arrived in a world whose Timeline was roughly fifty years ahead. Old Batman had grown old enough to retire as an ordinary man, and Batman II was now Terry McGinnis.

The young man was decent enough, but he still had much to learn. One thing he often said was, "I'm a soldier, not a detective. Just tell me who to point my gun at."

Though he did his best to restrain himself from killing at the old man's demand, Batman was practically crippled without the corresponding intellect.

The Justice League was now led by Black and White Superman, barely maintaining peace on Earth.

If one had to name the greatest difference between this place and Earth-0, it was not merely that its technology was more advanced, with the beginnings of Cyberpunk, but that there had been a gap of several years between Bruce's retirement and Terry taking over. Gotham had completely fallen, and it was now called "Joker City."

The real Joker had vanished after leaving behind The Last Laugh, but his spirit of chaos had spread to everyone. Anyone in the city could now be Joker. Government oversight, corporate politics, anarchists, and traditional gangs all fought endlessly for control of that dark city.

Because he had overused his brain in his younger years, Old Batman had developed a touch of dementia in old age. Now, he merely sat in Wayne Manor every day, staring at old photo albums, and firmly opposed the Justice League entering Gotham to offer aid.

The Justice League could not help, and Second Generation Batman lacked the brains for it, so Joker City's situation was abysmal.

But none of that had much to do with Deathstroke. He had come here to pursue the clues Darkseid had left behind.
