As a serious scientist, the archaeologist's first instinct was to blow something up and get things off to a good start. When an ancient site had a door that wouldn't open or a path blocked solid, explosives were always the easiest answer.

In the Star Wars universe, valuable relics tended to be sturdy. They were all at least secondhand, after all.

In other words, a simple explosion wouldn't damage them. Anything it did destroy was junk.

"Let's not blow anything up just yet." Su Ming took out a bottle of mineral water and poured it over the princess's face. He watched her stir and twist from side to side, then nodded in satisfaction. "First, we find a way to the surface and see what's going on here. Then we find Beicen."

"So when I buried the leftover bugs on Haven IV last time, I actually stumbled onto this planet in Hyper space?" Aphra held a bomb in one hand, looking thoughtful. "Did the Jump Drive malfunction? Or did some intelligent beings guide me here?"

Su Ming shook his head and helped the princess to her feet as she woke. "Don't ask me. I didn't see how you got here last time. Call it good luck. And it really was—if your luck were any worse, you'd have kicked the bucket long ago."

"Thanks! Nice to know you're rooting for me to die." Aphra rolled her eyes and flicked Leia's earlobe hard to help her wake up. "Princess, how do you feel?"

"My head's a little fuzzy, but I'm all right. Where are we?"

Leia was clearly still dazed. She wiped her face with the sleeve of her white robe, and it took her a while to sit up. Her coiled hair sat atop her head like two buns.
