"Don't be nervous. I'm Eyeball Fire Ant Morty. I'm a good person." That Morty smiled and crouched down, poking the Morty curled into a ball with a finger. "You escaped too, right?"
"You too?" Morty tried not to look at the other version of himself's bizarre appearance.
"Yeah, but we all have tracking chips in our necks. If we leave the bunker, we'll be discovered." Eyeball Fire Ant Morty shook his head, and the fire ants crawling across his eyeball moved even faster. "And you have to admit it—we're all useless. Without Rick, we're like Black people leaving a Black neighborhood. We could die just going out to buy a soda."
"Even if I die, I already ripped out my Control Chip. I'm not picking cotton for Rick." Morty twisted his neck and showed his fellow Morty the patch of missing flesh. "I can help you remove yours too."
"Really?" Eyeball Fire Ant Morty was tempted. After thinking for a moment, he nodded. "Then let's try it. I heard there's another Rick far to the north. He treats his Mortys well there. We can go join him."
Hearing that, Morty let out a deep sigh. Yeah, it was time to face the bleak reality: he was useless. Without Rick, he could not accomplish anything.
Since Hunter Rick was such a bastard and even kept people in cages, he might as well see what the other Ricks were like.
"Fine. I'll help you remove the chip!"
With that, Morty reached for the chip on the side of the other's neck—and got sprayed in the face with blood.
Maybe he used too much force. He had pulled out Eyeball Fire Ant Morty's carotid artery along with it. In mere seconds, the poor Morty collapsed to the floor, blood splattering across the ceiling.
