The route to the Mage Tower passed over a gigantic forest. Though all kinds of monsters flew through the sky, they seemed to have eyes only for one another and had no interest whatsoever in human-sized food.
So as the group moved above the emerald canopy, they encountered no real obstacles worth mentioning, aside from Deathstroke spotting a snake no thicker than an arm yet over two hundred meters long.
After feeding the black-and-green banded snake to Strangle, Su Ming chose to chat with Doom, who was flying with his arms folded.
"Doctor, how have things been between you and Susan lately?"
"She controls the company in the United States, while the children are in Latveria, at Doom's castle." Doctor Doom's voice seemed to carry a trace of warmth as he nodded at Deathstroke. "You know, this is actually the world you shaped after changing the Timeline, so you should not be asking Doom."
"True, this is the altered Timeline. I created a new story of my own to deny a certain Loki's 'story.'" Su Ming smiled and rolled over in midair, watching the enormous ray-like flying monsters cast massive shadows across the sky. "But activating the Time Stone requires energy. It consumes far more than a little conversation."
A brief laugh came from behind Doom's mask. He seemed to agree, but then he asked, "Asgard fell to Earth, and you successfully halted Ragnarok. What terms did you and Loki actually agree on back then?"
"Some minor things, mostly family matters." Su Ming smiled as well, taking out a cigarette and giving a vague answer while looking at the emerald sky. Then he changed the subject. "Don't you think the environment here looks familiar?"
