Deathstroke and Daisy reached the top floor, but strangely, it was completely empty, with almost nothing there.
Judging by the dust on the floor, something had once been placed here, but someone had clearly taken it away not long ago. Su Ming had arrived one step too late.
"Did The Ruler of the Materialist Empire take the things here? Or did those slime-covered friends of yours swipe them while they were at it?" Daisy paced around the circular hall. She even crouched down like a detective to inspect the traces on the floor, all while asking Deathstroke for his opinion.
They could see the scenery outside the tower from here, but the outside world was almost entirely obscured by dense giant trees, like some bizarre sea.
"It's hard to say for now. There are traces of both sides here." Su Ming stared at the shiny streaks on the floor that looked like dried snot, then looked at the messy three-toed footprints nearby. "The strange thing is that there's no flesh, no corpses. It's suspiciously clean."
The footage recorded by that eyeball robot showed that the Materialist Empire had killed people here, yet now even the blood was gone.
Had someone cleaned the place? But the dust was still here.
Su Ming did not particularly care whether he could find the old mage's belongings. He was merely finding something to do while Doom worked. The key was to gather as many clues as possible, perhaps allowing them to make a plan sooner.
"You've stumped me." Daisy pursed her little lips and ran her fingers through her hair like a comb. "But if I had to guess, I'd say some kind of magic caused this."
