In humanity's exploration of the unknown, different paths had been chosen, and naturally, different results had been obtained.
Some dug deep into the strata for ancient remnants, hoping to receive the revelation of an oracle. Others gazed into the boundless cosmos, watching the shifting stars in hopes of finding the answer to humanity's destiny.
All of this had become ever closer, and ever more distant, with the development of science.
And the highest mysteries shattered human thought at the extremes. Tempered by nightmares, cancerous tissue flowed from corroded metal and dripped onto blazing fear, sublimating into scenes of horror where technological power and sinful souls were fused together.
Within the abandoned twilight haze, mysterious terror and indescribable dread permeated the air.
Everywhere inside the Galactus Engine's head revealed that same distorted horror, one that was somehow magnificently grand.
His brain tissue had completely melted away—or rather, evolved. Blister- and ulcer-like sacs of fluid covered the place, while tentacles formed from nerves and blood vessels entwined themselves around machinery that was still operating, as though life and metal had merged into one.
The rusted mechanical devices wriggled faintly as a result, expelling chilling gases and mucus. The stench of rot filled the confined space, while malformed living growths coiled around everything like vines clinging to great trees.
Among these living machines were parts of insect bodies, human organs, and outlines and images that could not be recalled yet remained vividly clear.
They were all still alive, yet as their flesh underwent cancerous mutation and melting, they had entered a greater collective. They shrieked and reveled in a great love, like impressions that had flashed past and lingered within endless dreams.
