Deathstroke sighed, tossed aside the dead rat tucked into his belt, turned to Black Widow, and explained:
"I really was planning to feed him this rat. He could eat the brain and the meat, but I hate it most when people beg me. That's blackmail, understand? What I give him, he can't refuse. What I don't give him, he shouldn't even think about taking."
"Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, blackmail. He deserved to die anyway. No, wait, he was already dead."
Natasha walked over to the headless zombie corpse, flipped it over with the tip of her boot, then put on gloves and began examining it.
But the moment her hand touched the corpse's chest, before she could even apply pressure, chunks of flesh and blood, brownish-yellow fluid, and clumps of maggots sprayed from its esophagus and trachea.
"Eugh! That really is disgusting."
The female agent from the Red Room curled her lip in distaste, but her willpower was far stronger than Tony's. She still carefully searched the corpse from head to toe before standing and shaking her head at Su Ming.
"No phone, no identification. I'm afraid the trail has gone cold."
If he had a phone, its signal could be tracked. Even if his number was not from this Earth, the phone would automatically attempt to connect to nearby cell towers, allowing them to triangulate the route he had taken.
If he had identification, they could verify whether what he had said earlier was true. What if he had lied? He had seemed fairly polite, but he was still a zombie.
Natasha's train of thought was very clear. At the very least, it was better than Tony's.
"This is my Earth. No one passes through it without leaving a trace." Deathstroke pointed overhead and smiled as he tapped his earpiece. "Adjutant,
