A flash of blue light passed, and everyone appeared atop a skyscraper. Judging by the surrounding scenery, they were probably in New York.
"Hello, ladies. I'm Loki, Thor's younger sister and Odin's child." Having hit a wall with Deathstroke, Loki's smile remained undiminished. She began making friendly conversation with the girls, her voice syrupy sweet.
"The God of Deception?" Skye patted her S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. If this was the one from Norse mythology, then she was certainly famous.
Coulson's team had once dealt with trouble caused by Frigga and Sif livestreaming their shows, so Quake knew a little about Asgard.
"That's me. Aren't you honored? To walk alongside a god." Loki was delighted. She loved seeing the astonishment in others' eyes. Of course, it would have been even better if they also showed some regret for not recognizing her sooner.
"Enough. You're not a younger brother now—you're a younger sister." Deathstroke crossed his arms and cut off Loki's boasting. "Thor didn't come with you today?"
"He's too boring. These past few days, he's kept shouting nonsense about returning to Asgard and restoring the glory of the Aesir." Loki's smile faded as she brushed back her shoulder-length hair. "But Asgard crashed. Is he going to the Arctic to look at icebergs? Yggdrasil hasn't fully recovered yet. Truly rebuilding Asgard can't be solved just by shouting slogans."
Loki understood perfectly well that ending Ragnarök had been something Deathstroke promised long ago.
But it certainly would not be free help. The Mjolnir in Thor's hands was only part of Odin's payment. Given a Mercenary's greed, he was definitely planning to profit from every surviving Asgardian.
