Normally, Skye would have been delighted to go shopping.
But now they were in an unfamiliar universe with a very serious mission to complete, yet Deathstroke was leisurely leading the three women around New York City.
Skye was sure she and Deathstroke were not particularly familiar, yet she always felt there was a strange warmth in the way he looked at her, as though he had known her for a very long time.
It was not just the Sorcerer Supreme. Master Monark had clearly known something as well, and Gwenpool, whom they had met not long ago, had obviously paid her special attention too.
Why?
Had they met another version of her from a Parallel World before? Or would her future self do something on the Timeline?
It was so complicated.
Also, Deathstroke had arranged for his apprentice to tell those serialized stories. There had been no need to listen to those heavily altered tales at all. If they were bored, they could have simply brought over a television.
Yet he had still done it. Was he hinting at something?
Stories determined reality. But when he had previously explained the Multiversal Concept and dimensional theory, he had never mentioned that.
Though Skye was completely baffled, outwardly she remained calm and breezy as she linked arms with Jessica and strolled around. Inside, however, her thoughts were in complete chaos.
If she asked Jessica, the female detective, who currently looked like some street punk and walked while swaying her head as though she had no spine, would definitely say this was one corner of a grand plan, but nobody knew what Deathstroke wanted to do.
Even without much thought, it was obvious that something was wrong. What roles Iron Man, Thor, and their two teams played in the plan was still unknown.
