Iron Man walked over to Deathstroke, still holding a toy gun. When its trigger was pulled, it played lively music while beams of light swayed along with the melody.
It was meant for children, but there were no signs that children had lived here recently. The messy floor was covered in bloodstains and dust, crisscrossed with adult footprints.
Tony did not like children, but the thought that they might have been eaten by their zombie parents still left him feeling a little melancholy. After all, that was simply human instinct.
Su Ming ended his communication with Adjutant and tossed Iron Man a cigarette.
"You checked the entire floor?"
"Bones, trash, dust, junk." Iron Man took the cigarette and lit it with his Palm Cannon. The Mustache took a puff, his mustache twitching. "Call the discoveries whatever you like, but our decapitation target isn't here. And if I'm right, that Reed may have already seen what we've been doing in this building."
The streets outside the window were pitch-black. This New York held only deathly silence. Beneath the cloud-choked sky, the city's skyscrapers stood like upright coffins.
The weather changed too quickly. In such a short time, it already looked as though it might rain, and even the enormous Earth-1610 in the sky had vanished from sight.
"Are you sure there are no signs of children living here?"
Su Ming took the toy gun from Tony and pulled the trigger a few times himself. It was rather fun, but amid this dark and empty floor, its nursery-rhyme-like cheerful tune seemed eerie instead.
Maybe Jessica would like that ghost-possessed sort of feeling, so he would give her this only valuable find.
"I'm sure." Iron Man spread his hands, though his eyes remained fixed on the toy gun, clearly reluctant to let
