The view in space was strange. Turbulence drifted through the void like shards of black glass. Although this was not the first time they had traveled from Earth-1610 to another Earth, seeing space exist in this form was still an oddity.
Multiversity was something that happened between two Earths at a time. The other celestial bodies in the Solar System, as well as more distant Planetary Systems, had all seemingly been covered by an invisible black curtain and no longer existed.
Yet from Earth, they could still see sunlight, moonlight, and a sky full of stars. They were clearly still there.
But the moment one flew beyond the atmosphere, it was like entering an entirely different world. The dimension humanity inhabited and the senses they used clearly limited their understanding of the truth.
It did not matter. At least the moon was still there. After all, the concept of a satellite existed to protect Earth.
Once Earth no longer existed, neither would it. Even the corresponding numbered universe would cease to exist.
This was the famous American Comics Geocentrism. At least in Marvel and DC, each Earth was the center of a different Parallel Universe. Without Earth, there was no story.
Occupying different Earths was far more meaningful than fighting across the Milky Way Galaxy, conquering Extragalactic Systems within some Single Universe, or expanding without limit across a dimensional plane.
The former was the foundation of existence. The latter were merely resource nodes.
There was never any need to worry about Cloak of Levitation's flying speed. Mere seconds after leaving the sewer, the group landed on the far side of the moon.
"The weather is nice here today. It's a pleasant minus 183 degrees Celsius, just the boiling point of oxygen—if there were oxygen here." Deathstroke withdrew the Cloak, smoothed
