Elderly Reed turned around, smiled kindly at Little Black Spider, and extended a metal arm to pat the boy on the shoulder.

"Whether I believe it isn't important, right? The people on your Earth must have believed in you long ago." Miles scratched his head awkwardly. The honest Little Black Guy's face had even reddened. This old Reed felt very different.

Heavenly Reed nodded slightly, then shook his head. He turned to look into the pitch-black universe, his gaze settling on the burning torch once more.

"Always hold hope in your heart. To many beings, humanity is nothing more than maggots, bacteria, test subjects. Under such circumstances, should humanity resign itself to fate? No. Humanity should believe in itself. Young man, never speak lightly of giving up. Deathstroke is right. We humans are the strongest race.
