"Good. Now Earth-616's social situation is about the same as Earth-1610's." Deathstroke pulled out a cigarette and lit it, taking a satisfied puff beneath the purple beam of light. "After all, this is the fairness we want to create: keeping them too busy to care about anything else, until they can only watch helplessly as the two Earths collide."
"Doom has discovered that this Earth-616 is highly unusual. Both the Constructors and the Beyonders care greatly about it. Why?"
Doctor Doom, his arms folded around his metal arm, raised the question as his eyes fixed on Deathstroke's face.
"The Timeline is a tree, and Earth-616 is merely a somewhat thicker branch. That's all." Su Ming blew out a smoke ring and watched it change colors in the light. "But from today onward, our 40K Earth will be the Main World."
"I don't really understand what you mean."
Loki turned her head from side to side. She spotted a Molecule Man, as well as many empty chairs around them. She dragged a few over, sat in one, and patted the empty seat beside her for Deathstroke. "What benefits would becoming this so-called 'Main World' bring us?"
"Benefits in every regard. Have you ever kept pets? The kind that have just been born."
Deathstroke sat down and gestured for Doom to do the same. However, Doctor Doom would not sit in this sort of wheeled office chair for the sake of his image. It did not suit his status.
"Do wolves and snakes count?" The Goddess smiled, as though she had recalled warm childhood memories, but the smile quickly vanished.
The Aesir had extremely long lifespans, but their animal pets obviously did not, except for certain Divine Beasts created by Yggdrasil. Most animals were no different from those on Earth.
The joy
