No one knew how long the chaos within the multiversal shell would last. The destruction of countless Single Universes had created aftershocks and undercurrents that were now invisibly battering the remaining Earth, making it look as though it were swaying unsteadily.
But the benefits of becoming the sole remaining "wolf cub" were now apparent. All known multiversal demon gods and Concept Manifestations had only one foothold left: Earth-40K and its Pocket Dimensions.
If the last Earth vanished too, they could all just wait to die. The multiverse would collapse into an egg, then undergo another "Big Bang" after an unknown stretch of time, giving rise to the Eighth Firmament and continuing the old cycle.
But that would be a grand reboot, equivalent to the death of every existence bound to the multiverse.
Perhaps one day, they would be resurrected by the multiverse, like Eternity and Infinity and the others, who kept dying and coming back to life.
But once the Firmament was reforged, would the resurrected self still be the same self? And who could guarantee that they would definitely be resurrected?
That made things simple. If they did not want to suffer that fate or fall into a strange loop of logic and philosophy, they had to help Deathstroke protect this final foothold. They were all in the same boat.
So even though the remaining Earth was now shaking nonstop like a little house in an earthquake, Deathstroke was not worried in the slightest. He was still chatting and laughing with Doom.
The Multiversity had theoretically ended. There was no longer another equivalent single-Earth concept that could crash into Earth-40K, so things were naturally stable.
Using 40K as a template to reshape the entire multiverse according to his own wishes had been Su Ming's plan for decades.
