Watching the Imposter head back inside to hold a press conference, Deathstroke wiped the fallen agents' memories and returned them to their posts.
"All right, the internal threat on 40K Earth has been dealt with for now."
He left the White House as if he knew the place by heart, crossed the South Lawn, and leisurely climbed over the wall.
"Eek."
Strangle sighed in relief as well. It had thought they were really going to fight. It still had faith in its host, but getting hit hurt, after all.
"Let's go back and find Loki. Things went more smoothly than expected, which is a good thing."
After chatting with the Symbiote for a few moments, Deathstroke entered an empty alley and had the Adjutant teleport him away.
By the time he returned to the northern coast of Alaska, Loki was still helping Strange pack. More precisely, Doctor Strange was packing his own luggage while she stood against the wall with her arms folded, asking questions and fishing for gossip.
When she saw Deathstroke appear within a pillar of light, she smiled and eagerly approached him.
"I knew it. The Sorcerer Supreme would win. After all, time is on your side."
"More or less. I can only say someone helped me; it wasn't a complete victory." Deathstroke tossed her cigarettes and liquor, and they clinked glasses in celebration. "But at least we won't need to worry about the Old Ones for the next few centuries."
Strange finished his work and gave his little ice house one last look. He hooked up his luggage with his greatsword. "Master, I'll be leaving first, then."
"Go on. Wait, I'll write you a note so you can collect one hundred thousand US Dollars from Mordo." Deathstroke pulled out a small notebook and scribbled rapidly inside.
