After some joking around, everyone took their seats at the Round Table again. A bright beam shone on the Beyond symbol at its center, making the recessed etching gleam.

Su Ming settled into Batwoman's seat as naturally as if it had always been his, then began asking about the intelligence he wanted.

"Did that big guy named Brutus say anything while he was fighting you?"

The burly man with shoulder-length blond hair thought back. "He said some bizarre things, like, 'Nice world you've got. It's mine now!' And, 'Long story short, all this belongs to me!' I can't remember the rest, but it was all along those lines."

Arthur even mimicked the man's tone. Su Ming felt the full force of his overbearing swagger. So Brutus was the domineering CEO type?

"He said he'd be back once he was fully prepared," Superman recalled. Leaning forward in his seat, he added, "And Black Adam told me afterward that this invasion had only just begun. He might know something."

"Batwoman was there too, wasn't she? Why didn't you have her interrogate Black Adam?" Su Ming brought out sodas and snacks, turning another serious meeting into a casual chat. "She could ask him a question, and if he didn't answer, you could break one of his ribs."

"That's not what heroes do. Kahndaq is an independent sovereign nation, and Black Adam is its king. He may have been a villain once, but he's willing to change for his people. I won't use violence just because he refuses to cooperate with us."

Superman shook his head. He objected to Batwoman-style coercive interrogation, and Deathstroke-style methods were even worse.

It was wrong. They should warm people's hearts with justice and make them willing to cooperate with the Justice League.
