This woodland was vast, but it felt ghostly and eerie. Especially at night, those pitch-black branches looked like strange hands, posed in ways that made people imagine things. If anyone wanted to shoot a horror movie, this place would be perfect.
A thick layer of fallen leaves carpeted the ground, rustling beneath their feet. Because of the previous global snowfall, the trees looked like this even in summer.
