"We're off. Time to get to work." Deathstroke rolled his neck, lifted the gorilla onto his shoulder, then looked at Dream. "Thanks for your help, Daniel. When I have time next, I'll come back and discuss some things about the Nightmare Dimension with you."
"You've actually been there? And you weren't corrupted?"
Dream scrutinized the man before him. In his view, that was simply not a place humans were meant to visit.
"There are plenty of things that can corrupt my mind, but various Meatballs and tentacle monsters aren't among them. I'm not into that sort of thing." Su Ming smiled and shook his head, saying no more. Things on the Marvel side were difficult to explain.
Dream turned around and raised a hand again, tossing the scrolls back where they belonged. He did not press the matter, fully displaying his gloomy, easygoing temperament.
"Then I'll await your next visit. By the way, you're going to deal with Merlin. Do you need any other help? I have many dreams here. You could pull quite a few wizards currently asleep into the Dreaming and ask them to join your team."
Deathstroke's current team consisted of three warriors and a gorilla. It did not look particularly suited to dealing with a powerful wizard.
Daniel meant well and hoped Deathstroke would bring more people.
But Su Ming nodded, then shook his head. "We might need a top scientist, but we definitely don't need wizards. Dan, I know your suggestion comes from a good place, but it would only make things worse."
Seeing that Dream did not quite understand, Bobo, crouched on Deathstroke's shoulder, spoke up as well. With his pipe clenched between his teeth, he cocked his head and explained.
